Washing and Care
All materials are washed prior to sewing, but it is recommended that nappies are washed at home prior to use.
We recommend a cool to warm prewash of 30-40C, followed by a warm 40-60C long wash.
Washing at 40C and hang drying is ideal as it has a lower environmental impact. Nappies can be washed up to 60C and tumble dried low.
Do not wash hotter than 60C as this can damage the PUL and degrade the elastics.
Do not soak, use bleach, or fabric softeners.
When hanging dry, hang the nappy from the tongue to prevent the elastics from being overstretched, and protect from heat sources.
Prior to washing, any solids should be removed and flushed away. Nappies can be dry pailed until wash day.
Natural fibres like Bamboo and Hemp can need up to 10 washes to reach maximum absorbency levels. This is due to the natural oils that will be gradually be stripped from the fabric with repeated washing.
